About The Role

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our growing project team. This full-time position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career construction professionals who are eager to build a long-term career in heavy civil construction. 


As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with Project Managers,

Superintendents, and field personnel to support project planning, execution, and administration.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing heavy civil construction projects from start to finish.

  • Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure accurate execution of work.

  • Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation.

  • Perform material and quantity takeoffs and assist in cost tracking, forecasting, and budget management.

  • Work closely with field teams to monitor daily progress and ensure production goals, safety standards, and quality expectations are met. 

  • Help develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, and logistics layouts.

  • Support surveying activities and utilize GPS technology and basic surveying tools as needed.

  • Provide oversight and coordination for subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Participate in project meetings, both on-site and in-office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).

  • 1–3 years of experience in construction, preferably in heavy civil or related disciplines.

  • Ability to travel and work on projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic / DMV region.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Proficiency with construction software (e.g., Procore) is a plus.

  • Willingness to learn all aspects of heavy civil contracting, both in the field and office.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Must pass a drug and background check prior to employment.
