About The Role
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our growing project team. This full-time position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career construction professionals who are eager to build a long-term career in heavy civil construction.
As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with Project Managers,
Superintendents, and field personnel to support project planning, execution, and administration.
Responsibilities
Assist Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing heavy civil construction projects from start to finish.
Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and contracts to ensure accurate execution of work.
Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation.
Perform material and quantity takeoffs and assist in cost tracking, forecasting, and budget management.
Work closely with field teams to monitor daily progress and ensure production goals, safety standards, and quality expectations are met.
Help develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, and logistics layouts.
Support surveying activities and utilize GPS technology and basic surveying tools as needed.
Provide oversight and coordination for subcontractors and suppliers.
Participate in project meetings, both on-site and in-office.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
1–3 years of experience in construction, preferably in heavy civil or related disciplines.
Ability to travel and work on projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic / DMV region.
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Proficiency with construction software (e.g., Procore) is a plus.
Willingness to learn all aspects of heavy civil contracting, both in the field and office.
Valid driver’s license.
Must pass a drug and background check prior to employment.
